Description of activities
More than 10 UNESCO Associated Schools of the German ASPnet took part in the Gift a Poem campaign 2025. Some learned more about classical poems and presented them in the houses of elderly people. Others read the prophetic speeches of Micha and Jesaja and started to write their own poems. Afterwards they gave their peace poems as a peace present to the people passing by on the market place of Bamberg. Another group of students in the age of 14 years went to a group of primary school students and shared their poems with them. One activity of our ASPnet school in Frankfurt an der Oder was special: Their students of the 8th grade did write poems in Polish and German and gave them as a present to the the people they met in the streets of Frankfurt and of Slubice. We are very glad about the strong participation of the German ASPnet schools in the Gift a Poem Campaign of 2025 on World Poetry Day.
