Introduction
The Sri Lanka National Commission for UNESCO would like to express its sincere appreciation to the organizers of the “Gift a Poem” Programme for providing students with a valuable opportunity to express their thoughts, love, and gratitude towards their loved ones through poetry.
The programme encouraged students to enhance their creativity, emotional expression, and appreciation for literature while promoting positive values and relationships among peers, teachers, and family members.
We are pleased to inform you that several schools enthusiastically celebrated the programme in 2026 and actively engaged students in meaningful activities connected to World Poetry Day.
