Description of activities

Please accept our sincere thanks for organizing the “Gift a Poem ” program and giving this opportunity to our students to convert their thoughts about their loved ones to a poem and show their love and gratitude towards them . According to the guidance and instructions provided by the Gift a Poem team , the teachers have implemented this program in their schools successfully by guiding the students properly and inculcating good values and morals in their minds . Also, according to the teachers comments ,children have happily and actively been involved in this program and the teachers have taken this wonderful opportunity to improve the creativity of the children as well.

Though many schools showed a positive response for this program , unfortunately they were unable to carry out it in their schools due to the students’ exams which were in progress during the month of March.However , the following schools had been able to implement the program and sent us the videos and photos of how they organized it.

The UNESCO Club of Sri Sumangala Girls’ School, Panadura has successfully conducted the ‘Gift a Poem Campaign’ marking the World Poetry Day which falls on the 21st of March. The students were able to find some interesting poems and they were distributed among the specific people that they’ve chosen. (Classmates, teachers and their family members)

A piece of writing can heal one’s soul. It can address the heart of a person. By proving that, our students successfully participated in the ‘Gift a Poem Campaign’ at school on the 09th of March, 2023.

The UNESCO club of Mahamaya Girls’ College successfully held Mathemania’23 on the 17th of March 2023 at the school auditorium with the participation of many school children.
