World Poetry Day 2025: Celebrating the bridge of peace and communication between peoples
Students of Maztouria Preparatory School Tataouine – Republic of Tunisia celebrated World Poetry Day in March 2025 under the theme “Poetry is a Bridge to Peace and Integration,” an occasion that aims to highlight the role of poetry in promoting cultural dialogue and understanding between people and spreading common human values
Many varied activities are held in the school to celebrate World Poetry Day, such as:
1- Poetry readings through students reciting poetic verses in Arabic, English, and French and exchanging these poems
2- Drawing workshops that celebrate poetry and poets
3- Exploiting web tools to create awareness-raising brochures introducing this global event and focusing on the importance of poetry in consolidating the values of peace and enhancing cultural identity.
4- Exploiting school radio to introduce World Poetry Day by reading poems produced by students urging peace among peoples
5-Filming a video summarizing the school’s most prominent activities as part of celebrating this international day
6-– Competitions in drawing, poetry and written expression
All these activities were an opportunity to highlight the role of poetry in promoting cultural dialogue, and understanding between people, and know poetry as a tool for spreading common human values , and consolidating the values of peace and social integration, through the exchange of poems from different cultures to understand the experiences of others.
