Description of activities
Our Grade 6SIB students took part in a heartwarming outing to Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC), spreading smiles, words, and flowers as part of the global “Gift a Poem” campaign. This initiative, organized by the Polish National Commission for UNESCO, ASPnet Poland, and the Zbigniew Herbert Foundation in collaboration with the ASPnet International Coordination Unit, is a beautiful tribute to World Poetry Day, celebrated on March 21st, 2025. Our students embraced the spirit of the campaign by thoughtfully selecting or composing poems to share with patients at SSMC. Some drew inspiration from famous poets, while others penned heartfelt pieces of their own. Carrying both their words and flowers, they offered these gifts personally, bringing a sense of calm, connection, and care to each room they visited. In their gentle and sincere interactions, the students brought more than just poetry—they shared presence, compassion, and hope. This simple yet powerful act reminded everyone that kindness, in all its forms, is deeply healing. We are incredibly proud of our students for representing our school with empathy and creativity. Their poetic voices and open hearts made a meaningful impact today, and we celebrate their beautiful contribution to World Poetry Day.
